Introductory Class – Certified Shellfish Gardener

Course and Open House

This course will enable individuals to learn how to grow clams and oysters & understand the environmental factors affecting their growth.  The course includes 7 classroom training sessions, a certification test, field trips and a supervised summer practicum. The LBIF Science Lectures were established as a forum for improving the public understanding of science. Held at LBI Foundation in Loveladies, NJ, they provide an opportunity for the public to hear distinguished lecturers discuss a broad range of scientific topics, from current research to the interaction between science, technology, art and society. The lectures are widely publicized to schools, colleges and universities and to the community at large. The lectures are aimed at an audience that has an interest in science but is not necessarily expert in any branch.


LBIF is located at 120 Long Beach Boulevard, Loveladies, NJ 08008. Lectures are held on Saturdays at 1:30 PM in the Main Building. For directions and a map, go to www.lbifoundation.org . The phone number is 609-494-1241.
