What you can do

Many people don’t know that they can help improve Barnegat Bay while visiting in the summer, But…… they can even do more when they return home!

The pollutants that fall in rain and wind as well as those in the water that run down the rivers and streams cause problems for the baby shellfish that ReClam the bay is growing. Visitors, when they return home, return to the source of the stuff that hurts the calms. By reducing pollutants at the source visitors can help even more ant home than they can when visiting.

If clams could talk they would tell everyone who lives up wind and up stream that every creature in the bay needs their help. The clams would say, We are filter feeders and we clean the bay for the bottom up. But you humans can clean form the top down. The good things that humans can do at home would take millions of clams hundreds of days to filter. And the things that humans can remove from wind and water will help us grow faster and healthier.

Well, since calms can’t talk, they need people to speak for them. Come on neighbor let’s do some things here that will improve things all the way down there, in the bay. And visitors will be able to see the improvements in future visits. (Caution: it will not happen overnight but over a few years, if you involve others you will see the fruit of your efforts.)

Here is the challenge. Become an ambassador for the clams. An ambassador is A diplomatic official of the highest rank sent by one country as its long-term representative to another. Visitors can be ambassadors for the clams  -  Clambassadors.!
